What is the name of your state? TX

I currently reside in Oklahoma and purchased a car over Ebay that was listed by a dealer in Texas. Signed a check from loan company to dealer and signed "AS IS" warranty as he said it was required by Texas Law. 200 miles later, the car broke down and I had to have it towed. The dealer advised he would pay for what he thought was the fix and to take to a mechanic and let him know how much to reimburse me. Took it to a mechanic who advised that the car had been wrecked as there were signs of replaced hood, bumper, bad electrical wiring, and motor was spray painted. Dealer advised that car was in great condition and didnt report vehicle damage, accident, etc. Also, dealer provided a CarFax report, which also checked out. Is it possible to get my money back, anything at all I can do to better the situation? Thank you in advance for your help. I am extremely grateful for the advice before I get an attorney!

You are pretty much out of luck. You had the responsibility to check the car out prior to purchasing. You failed to do that so you are the one at fault. You bought it as-is.

This is true, however, when you purchase on eBay it binds you to a contract to purchase the vehicle; therefore, because you are obligated, all a person is forced to go off of is the seller's description.

Not true. You have the right to inspect the vehicle and if it does not meet the seller's description, you can cancel the deal. And eBay auctions are not a contract despite what eBay says, it is strictly an offer. I don't know of anyone that would buy a car at a live auction without a thorough inspection, why folks will do it on eBay is beyond me.

But due to caveat emptor, you should have either made arrangements to have the car inspected, or bought a car closer to you that you could have had inspected. You are out of luck.
