What is the name of your state?
CO

Hi,
I ll let users write comments on my website.
Do I get sued because of these comments?
What if they insult each other or say bad things about US, some religion etc.?
I ll have a report abuse link and terms of use that states my site is not responsible for user comments.
Is that enough or it doesnt mean anything at all?
I wonder how youtube is handling this issue. There are horrible user comments for videos which are insulting everything and everyone.

Any help would be appreciated.
Regards.

Freedom of speech allows anybody to voice any opinions they want without repercussions. If, however, somebody were to state anything defamatory (I'll let you look up what defamation is yourself), then there is a chance you could be held liable. No amount of disclaimers can protect you from liability.

So does anyone have an idea how Youtube -or anyother site that allows user comments like tihs site or blogs etc - is handling the user comments issues where a user states something defamatory ( didnt look it up what it means but what the hell I ll use it).

*sigh* Defamation (spoken form is called slander, while written form is libel) refers to when somebody says something that is knowingly false that may ruin the reputation of another. If one feels they have been defamed, they can contact whomever is running the website and give notice of such, and sometimes the comment will be removed.

A: Yes. Bulldog lawyers. Lots of them. And very expensive.
