I recently made a purchase from a vendor that supplies me with materials every year. I gave all of my credit card information to the vendor for the payment to be made. A couple weeks later I recieved all of the materials. And about 4 weeks after the purchase was made I recieved copies of the reciepts stamped as "paid" from the vendor. Well about 30 days after recieving the reciepts I started getting emails from the vendor stating that the card was declined when they tried to run it and that I still owe them around $19,000. I told them that the reciepts were recieved 23 days after the purchase was made and sent them the copies that I had. Then they came back and wanted me to start giving them copies of my bank statements. I told them that I would not give them any statements because they had our banking information on them and I wasnt about to give out our financial information. I told them that I would get a printout showing all transactions to them made over the last 60 days. I blacked out all of the account numbers and scaned a copy to email to them. They recieved this and then stated that they wanted to speak with my bank about the deductions. I told that the bank told me they can not speak to anyone about the account with the exceptions of the people listed on the account. They then told me that they were turning this over to the card company for investigation. I told them that was fine and to let me know when they find something out. They then came back wanting proof of payment from me. I told them that they already have everything that I have. Today I recieved an email stating that the situation was fixing to escalate if the invoices were not paid. I have not saw any information from this company showing that they have not recieved payment. Is the burdon of proof on me to show that I have paid them or is it on them to show that I have not? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
