hello from ohio,
I am looking to start a very small business of making custom decals for cars. My problem is that I don't know whether using the company's trademarks in my designs are legal, and if it is legal to what extent, if any, can I altar the logo (such as tilting it, or making it three dimensional).

Trademark infringement

I’m afraid that your proposed use of the manufacturers’ trademarks is an infringement of the trademark law, including the alterations you suggest. What some people do in your situation is contact the manufacturers and ask for permission to use the trademarks. Some companies give approval, and some don’t.
