What is the name of your state? TX

Someone I know posted my picture in one of their blogs and under the picture aired all of my dirty laundry. Some of it was true some wasn't. But it was none of their business to tell. And they were making some things up to make me look even worse. I told the moderators of the site but they haven't taken it down. If it's someones personal blogspace can they do that to someone else and not get their profile deleted? Will I need to get a personal attorney to take them to court for libel or something else? And they send me messages on this service. Making fun of me for certain things. Some of which I haven't done. I've never responded to them. They don't know if I am welcoming the messages or not. I was told that I have to tell them to stop and then if they continue I have a case for harassment. If I don't tell them to stop then I don't have a case. They arent' threatening me or anything. It's just saying "well I heard this or I heard that and then calling me names". What should I do. Is this considered harassment and are they violating any state or federal laws. The police say they cant' do anything. They called them and asked them to stop and said they would arrest them if they didn't stop. But they didn't stop. And apparently the police was bluffing with them trying to scare them. Because no arrest has been made and I did file a report. And I have copies. But who is to say if it comes down to it I didn't e mail myself and just copy it?

What you described is a tough call. If the site won't delete the comments, they apparently feel maybe it isn't harassing. It may be bothersome though. You have a few options..1- Don't visit the site anymore. 2- ask them to stop. Try this first and see what happens. Suing for harassment alone may be more aggrivation then it is worth. awards are normally small, and they will simply be told in the end to stop. Keep in mind, Lawsuits cost money. You will also have to prove that this person in fact is the one doing this. That can be done thru court subpoenas and depositions, another large expense for you. Hope this helps..

Tess.

I must also say, I never heard the word Libelize??
I agree that you need some "BUCKS" to pursue libel/slander suits. So if you don't have plenty of "The almighty Dollar" "Money"! It is useless to even think about this any further. good Luck!
