What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Can an employer require you to use your two week vacation all at once, and not split it up into smaller time frames? What limits do they have on determining how one utilizes their vacation benefit?

There is no law that says an employer must allow you to take vacation time as you see fit. They define the work and vacation schedule, not the employee. If you feel they are being unfair, talk to HR or look for a new job, but you have no legal recourse with this employer.

thank you. I thought it was odd because I have never heard of an employer telling people to take their vacation all at once.

The employer could also prevent you from taking any vacation time if he so desired.
