What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WA

King County has a capacity charge of about $7,000 for all new sewer connections. this charge is due in quarterly payments over 15 years. I am in arrears for about $2,000. king county says pay the $2,000 over the next 3 months, or they will put a lein on the property. what are the effects of this lien? what actions are possible?

City water and sewer departments have the right to attach un paid bills to property taxes , if a owner still doesnt pay then eventually a city water dept can first choose the simple way and DC the unit so it has no water and then in many places they have the right to condemn a unit that has no water! ,. they are gonna get the money by hook or crook so your better off making payments .
