What is the name of your state? MO

I am the spouse of a veteran, who had been receiving a NSC pension when we wed.

There was an overpayment of benefits.
There is now an outstanding debt to the VA for the overpayment, on which monthly payments are made, as per an agreement with the VA.

My questions are:

is this debt the veteran's alone, or is it a joint debt, since I am wed to the vet?

If the debt is not paid in full prior to the veteran's death, does the VA have the ability to place a lien on or sieze any marital property owned jointly by us to fulfill the debt?

Thank you for your time.
