Podiatrist tech cut deep into sides of toenails although I told her to cut straight across. I am afraid of ingrown toenails cutting into my skin because of diabetes.

I understand the concern, especially due to the diabetes but what is it you expect? You need to watch the growth of your nails diligently and report for medical assistance when warranted

You may already have had ingrown toenails. That's a technique used to remedy them.
