What is the name of your state? virginia
My husband and I bought a car almost a month ago from a used car dealer, as is. The car has been in the shop more than what I have used it. It has had sensors put on it, in the radiator, then a new radiator, and now a timing belt and water pump. The car dealer is saying that we were fortunate enough that they paid for all of the other repairs, but this last one (the water pump, etc.) we would have to pay half. It may be fair, but with us not having the vehicle but about a week and a half over the last month, I dont see how it is, being that they have sold us, obviously a lemon. They claim that they did not know that it had all these problems, and that may be so, but they also say that there is not such thing as a lemon law, and I know different. What I don't know is if we will be able to do anything or force them to pay for fixing our crappy car, or if we will just have to pay for it. If anyonw could help I would greatly appreciate it. With the laws, where they can be found on the internet, and if there is anything that can be done but sulk and get over it.....Thanks...and sorry that this is so long...I wanted you to know the whole facts....

Someone can jump in and correct me if they know something about your state that I don't but I think you are stuck and should be grateful they are covering what they have. You bought the car as is which means it was your responsibility to have it checked out BEFORE buying. Your on your own in this one. New cars are typically what is covered under the lemon law.

Thanks

We kinda figured so, but the worst of it was we really tried the thing out. Up hills, steep, and back down them, took it on the interstate and run it on up to the local interstate speed limit, turning on everthing as we went, ac, then heat, etc....and the only thing that come up wrong was a heat sensor....and he fixed that so it wouldn't run hot....I guess you can never really know what you are getting when you buy used....sometimes a gem and sometimes a lemon....LOL....thanks for your input anyways!
