What is the name of your state? VA

I attend a private bording high school. On the weekends we are allowed to sign home and leave campus. I decided to go home with my friend who lives in Maryland. Well over the weekend we had said we would be back Sat. night b/c there was a program we wanted to see that the school was putting on the following day (sunday). We called and talked to the dean around 9 p.m. and the dean said it was time to come back to the school. So at about 10 something we left and headed back. Well at 11 something my friend became very tired and it was not safe to drive so we pulled over and tried to call the school. No one answered and there is no way to leave a message so we just went to sleep. The next mornining we got back to find that they are threatining to suspend us and take away my friends car. I need some help if a dean would have been in the dorm like they should have then none of this would have happened. thx for any help u can give. btw the school is prolly reading all this.
thx

Well you knew the rules when you signed out and you knew when you talked to the Dean @9pm that he told you it was time to come back. You didn't come back when he said to, did you? You waited and come up with this story about geting too tired to drive and sleeping. If your friend wanted more time because he was too tired to drive, why not have his parents talk to the dean to extend your stay at his parents home, if you were actually there? See, your story is full of holes. Yes, they can take what ever measures necessary and expect you to abide by their rules, afterall that is what your parents are paying them to do, not to disturb the dean's sleep, right? Also when they read this, they will call you on your spelling errors also! ;)

no it is not a story and we honestly did not think it was that big of a deal. We have talked to both our parents and they understand and are happy that we did the safe thing and pulled over. Had a dean been in the dorm like they should have been, then all of this would have been avoided.
I have to meet with the Committee. They are talking about a suspension...for playing it safe and pulling into a food lion? what if we got in a wreck and one of us died? how would they feel then?

Why didn't you call your folks or your friends when you couldn't reach the school again?

Well, you obviously thought wrong. I suspect you're going to simply have to suck it up and deal with the consequences.
