What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia
We are looking at buying another house and then putting our old house on the market. How much more percentage wise, could we expect to pay for vacant house insurance until it sells?

Ask your insurance agent.
Absolutely. Every insurance company charges a different price, PLUS it depends upon the length of the policy you buy. Also, there are minimum earned premiums. Lastly, the coverages on this type of policy are not packaged together like they are on an owner-occupied home policy, so it depends upon what coverages you buy.
