Vacation Pay After Termination

What is the name of your state? Live in Indiana, worked in Michigan

My fiance worked for a painting company in Michigan and, after a year, was owed a week of paid vacation. It was repeatedly denied and he has since been fired. Is he still owed the vacation pay that he earned? If so, how can we get it? Thanks.
