What is the name of your state? California

I work for a corporation that is headquartered in Ohio. I have been informed that we can rollover 1 week of vacation time to the next year, but if you have more than 1 week, you then lose the time. Is this legal? How can you accrue time off and then have it taken away? What do you suggest?

It is legal in Ohio but not in CA. You need to bring to the attention of the corporate headquarters that your state has different laws. If they refuse to modify the policy to be in compliance (for CA employees - they are allowed to keep the policy as it exists in Ohio) contact your state DOL.
