Vacations out of usa and visitiation

Hi im going on vacation on a weekend my sons father is scheduled to have him for visitaion ... i will be gone for two extra days ... returning home on monday my mom had offered to take care of my child the two extra days iam gone ... is there some kind of paper work i need to leave here with ..stating that she has care of my son until i return do i have to file threw court ... what should I do .... My sons visitation With his dad is friday to sunday ... im leaving friday returning tuesday ...... ill be leaving in January so all your help is grealy appreciatd

Is dad going to have an issue returning child to Gramma? Is there any reason Dad can't have those extra 2 days? How old is child?

To clarify, your child WILL BE going on his regularly scheduled time with Dad? The entire scheduled time? And then you are planning to have your mother take care of the child, after Dad's time, until your return?

Okay he shouldnt have a problem returning my son to my mother cause he usually cant wait to get out of vacation my son will be two .... and yes im leaving on the weekend he is already scheduled to be with his dad ...just that monday and tuesday he would usually be with me ... so my mom will stay with him ..... so do i need legal documentation can i leave a letter ... what should i do ... his father isnt a jerk but if that day comes i want to cover my butt so he cant ever say i left my kid ...... if he wanted to keep him till tuesday thats fine too ....

I would talk to dad. Offer him Monday and Tuesday, and explain that if he's NOT going to utilize that extra time, that Gramma will be staying with kiddo.

Google for a "Medical Release" - this is NOT the same as a POA, but would allow your mother to seek medical care for kiddo in the event that neither parent can be located and something happens.

let dad know grandma will be babysitting if he doesn't want to keep the child. make sure grandma has dad's contact information in the event of an emergency. let grandma know that if dad wants to pick up the child during that time, to not cause a scene and just hand the child over.

you won't get charged with neglecting the child for two days with a babysitter.

What, if any, difference in drop off pick up location would drop off at mom's entail? What are your court ordered pick up/drop off arrangments?

We dont have any he gets my son every other weekend .. and we alternate who picks up and drops off .....

there are some assanine angry exes that will try that route. and it's not neglect. like you stated, you didn't just leave the child to fend for themselves.

if dad doesn't want to take the extra time, then he doesn't have to. just let him know the extra time is there.

he usually is to busy to be bothered with his current visits with my son .. so im sure me asking or offering 2 more days would be a bother to him .. i just wanted to no if there was something legal i needed to do ...thank you very much for all your insight

Thankyou very much i feel much better know ... i already feel guilty for going ive never been away from him ... this is a treat from my sisters (vacation) because i just bought a house so i can give my son a more stable up bringing! ...room to Grow ...
