In Alabama, you have to be divorced for 60 days before you may legally remarry. It takes roughly 30 days after a decree is signed for the divorce to become uncontestable.

If a newly divorced male goes to Central America and remarries before the 60 day trial, brings his bride back to Alabama and she ends up with a Visa to reside and work in this state, wasn't the visa obtained by fraudulent means?

Seems to me not reading the decree isn't an excuse to claim ignorance. Any thoughts?

BTW: I already posted this question in the "Immigration" section.
