Washington state. I entered into a verbal agreement with a friend of mine over some engine work on a 4-wheeler motor. There were 3 other witnesses there that saw an exchange of parts and money for services to be rendered. One of the other guys there also gave him some parts and he is in the same pickle right now. It has been 1 year and 4 months since that day and He is still giving me the runaround about giving me my engine back. He has told several other people that he has it, and he has talked about "my motor" in front of several other people. There are some other people who said he has sold their parts and supposedly had other stuff stolen out from underneath them. I asked him about the stuff and he just always says he is going to get my stuff tonight and never does. It is all supposedly in his race trailer and he has to bring it to his work so he can get the stuff out. He said he asked his boss if it was ok to have the trailer at his work, so I asked his boss about it and he said he hadn't said a thing to him. I confronted him and he said one of us was lying and then he told me to F*&K off! I want to take him to small claims court but I have no receipts or written contracts for the exchange. I built the bike this stuff came out of from scratch, and bought the engine from some guy in Arizona when I lived there. The bike is titled now but I am engine-less. It was titled after I gave the guy the engine to work on. Do I have to go to small claims court, will this even fly in small claims court? Please respond! THANKS!!!
