My question is regarding a verbal agreement to pay a credit card debt in the state of Massachusetts. My friend purchased a small truck for her boyfriend ($3,500) on a credit card. They had a "verbal agreement" that he would pay the debt. The trucks title, registration and insurance were all put in the boyfriends name. (This couple owned a home together and were planning on marriage.) There was never anything in writing. They have since split up and she wants to sue him for the money. What are her chances of recovering the debt, if any.
