i live in kansas and i am wondering if a verbal agreement is valid. the house i am in is an ex-boyfriends. our verbal agreement at the time of the break up was half the house was mine and to only pay the property taxes. now he is getting married and wants me to pay rent or get out. he gave me the deed to the house. now if that doesn't show we had an agreement i don't know what does. i relize he wants to rid of the house. all i want is money due me for my half. any advice??????

I don't really know.

What does it mean that he "gave you the deed to the house"?
Did he sign it over to you in some way? is a new deed in your name recorded?

Why don't you try your question on the Real Estate forum, rather than the Landlord/Tenant forum?

P.S.,
Maybe someone on the Divorce forum has some insight into this kind of a problem, too.
