I made an agreement with a friend of a friend and gave him a deposit for a business meeting he was going to set up, he was going to return the money to me after the meeting. He never followed through with the meeting and now not only will he not give me my money back, but he has given me an hourly bill for his services which I never even agreed to pay him. Is this legal? Can I take him to small claims court to get my money returned. He has told me to go pound sand and just forget it. Thanks,

i am not sure what kind of business meeting would require you to pay someone. If you think it is worth it, then go ahed and take him to small claims.

It was an investors meeting. Now he tells me to just forget it ever happened. He thinks I will just walk away and it is making me angry.
