Verbal or Written?

I'm in Virginia. I was supposed to compete in a business competition. No one told me it was or what times it would be. I missed the trip & it was demanded that I pay them the $65 registration fee. Prior to this no one had told me anything about having to pay back the fee. I never signed any papers, we never had a written nor verbal agreement about reimbursing the club. He's saying that we had a verbal agreement that I would go & that I have to pay him $65. Can he win this case?

No one can answer your question, "Can he win this case?"

That is because NONE of us know what evidence, if any, he or you might produce or how solid his, or your, case could be. In any case, I have taken "Fortune Telling 101" three times now, and have flunked it every time, so certainly can't foretell what might happen in the future no this case.

In summary:
If he has sufficient evidence to support his case that you were obligated to pay, he could win. If you have sufficient evidence to support that he had an obligation to provide details of the trip and didn't, you might win.
