What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

My problem is that if you call my phone number, which is with Vonage, from a Verizon FiOS phone (I've tried 2 completely different accounts) you get a message that the phone line has been disconnected. If you call the number from any other service, even Verizon Wireless, the call goes through with no problems. The number was created by Vonage and has always been with them. I have spent hours and hours on the phone with Verizon and they usually try and blame Vonage and after some discussion will sometimes take credit for it and then call me back a few days later saying it has been fixed which it hasn't for over a month at least with it possibly being as much as 3 months.

Are they breaking any FCC regulations by blocking a number that does not belong to them? What can I do legally to pressure them into finally fixing this issue as talking to tech support has not provided any results? I am out of work and I am worried that potential employers may be getting a disconnected message when there is nothing at all wrong with my phone service. I always call Verizon from my Vonage phone so I have a record of every time I called and how many hours I've spent on the phone with this.

Thanks for your time,

They may not be intentionally blocking the number and that it may be a problem either on Verizon's end or on Vonage's end. Have you tried contact Vonage over the problem?

You may want to try this forum:

From a quick look they seem pretty knowledgeable when it comes to Vonage & FiOS.

Until you get it figured out you may want to consider picking up a pre-paid phone, you can get one for about $30 with already 300 minutes filled on it, that way when you apply for a job you know that phone will work.

I had a similar problem with AT&T when I switched to Vonage. Here's what I did --- File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (since Verizon is a BBB member). It took six months to straighten my mess out but finally they did. This gives you a fair amount of power because you can state what you want for the solution so if it still isn't right you can keep them working on it and the complete history is documented until YOU say it's finished. No company like them that is a member of the BBB wants to lose their accreditation because of something like this.

Solved: Verizon Digital is blocking my Vonage number

I filed a complaint with the BBB and they fixed my problem in less than a week after the BBB sent the complaint to them. Verizon even called me several times to make sure the problem was resolved.

Thanks CraigFL for the suggestion.
