Okay, first of all I live in Iowa. When my parents divorced and the child support/custody stuff came up my mom just sat down and compromised with my dad to avoid court. Now, he is rude and refuses to agree with anything she wants to do. We are suppose to meet my dad every weekend which is six hours in the car every weekend. Our child support is under $130 for four children which doesn't even cover groceries. Can we get this changed?

Yes she can ask for a upward modification of the existing support order. The support should have been computed based on a percentage of his income, and not sure if IA uses a computation of the mothers income also, but her expenses would definitely also be taken into consideration. She needs to contact an atty or the child support enforcement division in your state. They can petition the court on your mothers behalf. Usually you can get the support enforcement agency's number from your local dept of human services offices(welfare).

Good luck..
