Michigan.
There is a guy (A) that wants to break his apartment's leasing contract with his landlord and I became his victim. The price for his apartment is originally $500/month. He sent me an email offering that I just need to pay 350$/month in total and he will pay the rest. I agreed and signed the contract with the landlord (with $500/month). Immediately after I signed the contract, he said: now you have to pay for 500/month, I have no responsibility.
This is a 2 bedrooms apartment and the other roommate is his cousin. After he told me that, I'm very scared and don't know what to do. If I sue him and continue to live in that apartment, my safety is threaten because the roommate is actually his cousin !!!!!
I still have all the of the communicating emails.
Can I ask the landlord to break the contract ( just signed yesterday) ?
Should I report this case to the local police?
Thanks,
