My husband and I rent a room from a lady that owns her own mobile home but rents the lot in a mobile home park. We moved in June 23rd on a month to month lease and are paid in full until August 1st. We have been informed by the owner of the mobile home park that according to the homeowners lease with the mobile home park roomers and boarders are not allowed and are being told that we need to move immediately. The owner of the mobile home has been issued written notice by the park owner that she is in violation of her lease and that we need to move immediately. What are my legal options since this has turned out to be an illegal rental. Can the park owner or the mobile home owner force us to move immediately without the standard 30 day notice or being taken to court for proper eviction proceedings? Both my husband and I are disabled and are fighting for disability at the moment. We do not have the financial means to simply up and move immediately. I have attempted to look up the rental laws in Virginia but I'm reading that in some cases Landlord Tenant laws don't apply if the Landlord doesn't own multiple properties. I have the internet turned on in my name and I receive mail at the residence.

Well tell the home owner you rent from you want immediate reimbusement of your rent to be able to move , or the owner can deal with the consiqences and face eviction. My odds are sice it's a trailer park ,the owner spent it already and has note much money in the bank. Hope you have entry keys, and stay put till Sept. 1 , or get a letter statement you must be out by management/owner and go for State Emergency Aid. You'd have to sue for your rent return, and I doubt if you could collect.

Try salvation Armey or the VOA too. Good luck. Unfortunantly people don't care ,maybe you should stay and she/he would be served an eviction. Serve the owner right ,I'd say.

first so you know it is not illegal for her to rent rooms it is a civil matter between her and the park management since she is the one who chose to violate her lot lease SO if park management says any thing to you at all about leaving would be to politely but firmly tell them ` I do not care to discuss this with you, if your tenant is violating her lease with you then it is between you and her` Your LL is the problem here , if you paid up to a certain point either she can refund you for the time you will not use if you move out early or let you stay out the time you did pay and take her chances with the courts. If the park owner wants her & home to be gone park owner will have to use the courts to do it , if she wants you out and illegally evicts/ self help evicts you , your choices inc calling the police to report the self help eviction and when you can make arrangements to sue her for evicting you with out a court order and refund of unused rent. ( no promise your gonna collect it though)
