Columbia House called me on day, after realizing my previous obligation was paid out. They said I could purchase 3 DVD's for 25.00 and would only have to buy 2 more at regular price within two years. I agreed to this, they sent me the info package. Then I saw where they would send the director's selection every month and if I did not want it I would have to cancel by a certain date by returning a card that was provided every month. I know from previous experience by the time I sent the card cancelling the director's selection, the movie would already be shipped to me. Causing me to have to return them, which messed up by bill. I called as soon as I read this, the very next day I received the membership package and cancelled over the phone. The following day I sent the membership back with the DVD's stating I wanted to cancel my membership. I received a letter yesterday, saying I still have to pay for the membership, even though it was cancelled. I live in SC, I thought I could cancel any contract within 30 days, I cancelled in writing and over the phone within 10 days. Do I have to Pay? I need advice. Its only 25.00 plus the 2 DVD's at regular price , which is another 30.00 but I didn't agree to those terms. Thanks
