Ive lived in my place for 4 yrs, someone baught the place next to mine. They are planning an addition. Which will completely obstruct my view from my livimg room. Their place is the first one in the row on a hill and already has killer views all over. This is the only view I have. I went to the Dept of Land use and they say these people can build. Are there any legal or other remedies I might have? This will substancially drop the value of my house, I doesn't seem right that this is ok.

Sorry, at common law there were easments for light and air... but those no longer exist. You may try to argue with the planning commission that it is out of character with the neighborhood?
