What is the name of your state? Virginia
I purchased a 2003 Trailblazer EXT on Dec 31, 2002. I began having a problem with the transmission not responding. I would stop at a light and when I would try to go when the light turned green the car would rev at 2000rpm. I would have to manually put the car into 2nd gear before the car would go. 3rd gear does not respond, but 1st and 2nd do. I took the car in on May 8 and the dealership said they were able to duplicate the problem and their computers said to reset the transmission computer. Two days later the problem continued again. After I got back from a vacation I took the car back in on June 2. They replaced the shift linkage cable and said that the problem was fixed. About one week later I had the issue again for one instance. A couple of days later the instance happened again. I called the dealership and we set an appointment, but I had to cancel because I need the vehile since they would not give me another car to drive. I went for approximately one more week and the instance happened again. I called the dealership and they said since it is inconsistent they will not be able to help me and if the problem happens while I'm out then to bring the car in. The next day I called Chevy customer service. The lady said that it sounded like a saftey hazard and she spoke with the dealership to have them take care of the problem. I set the appointment and they have given me 2000 base model Tracker to drive in the mean time. I spoke with them yesterday and they are going to keep the car again, but they said the problem probably won't get fixed unless the car sends a code or they can get the problem to duplicate.
My question is simply this: Does this car fall under the VA Lemon Law? What can I do to get the issue resolved (new Trailblazer or fixing the problem) on my own?
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
