The community/ Virtual World named "THERE.COM" have something they call "ThereBucks". These are virtual credits that you buy for real money and spend inside the community playing raffles, buying clothes and items for your avatar.

QUESTION #1
Lets say I purchase for $100 ThereBucks and I regret my purchase. Can I get my money back?

Their T&C's say...
"There.com will not refund any fees that may have accrued to your Account before cancellation of your membership or subscription, and we will not prorate fees for any subscription. This includes Therebucks purchases."

QUESTION #2
My friend spend $300 on ThereBucks, and during his time there he won a 10 million ThereBucks raffle (equitant to $6000). Of cause There.com do not want to pay them out in dollars, but what are his chances of winning if he went to court?

If you go to a Casino, change your dollars to chips - gamble and win - you can go back and change your chips to dollars. Why is the law different for a community like There.com ?

Thanks in advance.
- Don.

Are they transferrable?

If so try and sell them on ebay or someother auction site for say 1/3 of what they are worth. There are bound to be people who are seriously into the site and would buy them. Hell if people can sell the Subway sandwitch shop coupons on ebay you gotta be able to unload there-bucks.
