I don't disagree...LOL...I was just pointing out that its hard to get an employer to consider someone that's only available for 4 weeks....just like its hard to get an employer to consider someone who has to miss 4 weeks of the summer.CJane said:I dunno... if daughter is really that athletic and so very into volunteer work I was thinking along the lines of a day camp counselor, child care at the Y, babysitting, things along those lines. All of which would be short term, give back to the community, and provide a pay check.
Honestly, I think mom is NOT likely at all to get the visitation even further restricted, nor is she presenting valid arguments for allowing the child to tell dad she's not visiting.
Its kind of a no win situation for teens on the job side of things when summers are split between the parents (and the parents don't live close to each other)...because the odds of lucking into very short term jobs aren't strong. None of those jobs you mentioned above, in my area (except perhaps sporadic babysitting) would take someone for just 4 weeks.
Even though I agree that they need to spend their summers with both parents...I just think its one more of those things about divorce or unwed parenting that's unfair to the kids.
