My husband is the custodial parent of my 6 year old stepson. My stepson resides in PA with my husband & I. My husband's ex resides in South Carolina. She has visitation on Easter, 2 wks in June, 2 wks in Aug., alternate Thanksgivings & shares the Christmas holiday break from school. All of these visitations are allowed to be taken in SC as long as we are given an address as to where the child is staying & phone # as to where the child can be reached. If the child stays anywhere else other than the residence given (ex. sleepover @ friend's or aunt's house) we are to be notified. One of the deciding factors in my husband being awarded custody was that his ex lived in 8 different places with the child in approx. 3 yrs. All relocations were not b/c of job-related circumstances. The cause was instability & changes in habitating w/ boyfriends. My husband was lied to on many occasion as to where his son was staying, attending school, & what phone # he could be reached at. Some of these boyfriends the ex habitated w/ caused emotional damage to the child. Since being awarded custody 2yrs & 10 months ago, the ex has suprisingly stayed at the same residence for approx. 2yrs. My stepson visited his mother for his June visitation. After returning, he reluctantly told us that his mother has a new place to live that is near a grocery store. He said he resided there for the 2wk visit & did not go to her former residence at all. He also stated he was told not to tell his father or I b/c the ex didn't want us to think she was breaking up w/ the boyfriend she was previously living with. I don't want to betray my stepson's confidence, as he is very afraid of being in trouble w/ the ex. But, again, my stepson is staying somewhere else other than what we are being told. He will be going away in Aug. & we have not yet been told of the new residence of the ex. This is a breach in the custody order. What can be done? What should we do? We deserve to know where my stepson stays during the time he is away. We don't want to start a big legal battle again, but I feel this is somewhat serious. Please Help. P.S. the ex becomes very angry if my stepson stays overnite @ grandparents house & isn't called to be notified. ( We do e-mail her the child's location & phone #)What is the name of your state?
