What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio

I need some answers please...... Ex & I have been in & out of court for 3 yrs. for various reasons. This last time we went she wanted to move out of state I blocked the move with court. She refused to let me have custody so she did not move. (judge told her she could move but NOT the child) So visitation has been going well ex & I have been communicationg better. Now she wants to move again but not 800 miles away but 2800 miles away. What do you think will happen this time around?

No crystal ball here but I would expect the same song and dance and mom will once again have to choose whether or not to move without her child.

It really depends on the facts of the case this time - whether Mom's relocation is determined to be in the best interests of the child.

I'd venture a guess that the results would be much the same, but I know nothing about your case, the child, or why Mom wishes to relocate.

Facts of the case is Ex's hubby is be relocated there for the Army. Only thing she says is that her husband is going there & how would you like to be away from your wife for that long. Magistrate is not gonna be happy so I don't think that it will last very long in court. When is enough? How many times can you take the other person to court for the same thing you were denied not even a yr. ago???? Can't the magistrate stop her from filing the same motions over & over????

Was it a military move the previous time as well? Military moves do tend to be granted more frequently than other moves.

Yes it was also a military move but she was not granted that move the first time. Magistrate told her she could go but the child is to stay here in ohio & not be removed from Ohio unless I agreed. Which must go in writing then. What is a standard long distance parenting plan in ohio?

For the distance you are talking about, every other Thanksgiving, one week at Christmas, every or every other Spring break, and the bulk of the summer.

Ex has presented me with a long distance parenting schedule asking me to pay for all travel expenses, half of Christmas break, spring break, summer & EO Thansgiving.

In your previous post re: relocation, about a year ago, you were step-mom.

Are you now dad? Or are you step-mom posting as if you were dad?

Yeah, exactly. Which is why I originally went looking at old posts. I mean, "ladyluck" was questionable, but I have yet to meet even one (straight) man who speaks like that.

She shouldn't need to change your screen name. You could use yours.

Whatever. You know what to file, and you can fight it in court again.

I hope that in general, you're more rational than this replay makes you seem.

There is NOT a standard long distance plan in my primary county but I also work five other counties. Look at Medina County's DR website. it will give you their standard long distance. Which is similar to what has been stated.

Ex has presented me with a long distance parenting schedule asking me to pay for all travel expenses, half of Christmas break, spring break, summer & EO Thansgiving.
She should be paying all the travel expenses if she is moving. She should also get half the summer. Most of what she has stated is not bad.
