The state is Louisiana. My question is I have joint custody of my children. They live with my x-husband. I pay my child support every month. I am supposed to get the kids every other weekend and every summer, but inorder to pay the child support every month, there are some times that I can't take the kids for the weekend or just maybe not one day of the weekend I am supposed to take them. I am supposed to have custody of the kids during the summer and pay my x-husband the entire amount of child support while the kids live with me. I can't afford to do this so I don't take the kids in the summer. My x-husband is threatening to take me to court, can I get introuble for not taking them? Please help!!!!

You will not get into trouble.. but he could petition to amend the visitation and take out the summer visits. That is the worse that he can do. Just tell the judge the truth if it happens.
