What is the name of your state? NC

What does a mother need to do to get visitation w/ her child. Visitation is not court ordered at this time. Does she have to hire a lawyer, does she have to pay for court costs? Most importantly does the judge take into account that the child doesn't know her? Supervised visitation was set up, but she never followed through w/ it. Now that I'm pursuing child support, she wants (unsupervised) visitation. She has a felony record.. selling drugs (to a cop), prostitution, using drugs and is an alcoholic. Does she stand a chance?

Yes...she does stand a chance...but it will most likely be supervised for a long period. You can ask for , and most likely get, drug testing. With her history she will probably not follow through...but you never know...perhaps she will decide her love of her child is grater than her love of drugs...
