In 1998 I got a traffic ticket in the amount of $112.26 and in 1999 I got a ticket in the amount of $783.16 I failed to pay the tickets, moved back to WA state, found out my license is suspended and the tickets were turned over to Alliance One Receivables Management inc., due to the interest added by the collection agency my total bill is now $1568.62 I just moved back, need my license and I am currently not employed. My question is I have been told you can talk these collection companys into cutting the interest they charged?? any advice on how to get the bill lower? or getting my license back before the bill is paid in full? Thanks for any response. :D

Your best bet is to send a letter to the CA asking for a pay for delete. You got yourself into this by not paying them in the first place, and the interest charged isn't that bad. I'm not sure how the payment of the debt will be communicated back to the motor vehicles department or what sort of proof they will need that the debt is paid in order to reinstate your license. Call them and find out. Then pay the debt, get your license back, and get a job. Trying to fight this will take longer than you're probably willing to wait to get your license back, and cost you more in lost wages than you'll get it reduced by.

Thanks for the response, what is a pay for delete?

Just what it says - you offer to pay them in full and in return they agree to delete their tradelines from your credit reports.
