I am the plaintiff and I have won a judgment for an unpaid personal loan. I have a Writ of Execution for wage garnishment against the defendant. The defendant has requested an exemption and a hearing is set for ten days from now.
Do what extent can the defendant claim expenses exempt from collection?
Will I be allowed to challenge the defendant's statement?

Read the applicable laws. You will not be able to garnishee 100% but only a percentage according to statutory guidelines. The person needs money for food, shelter etc. The judge may grant a higher amount protected depending on the circumstances.
