Hi, from Albuquerque, NM! I have a question regarding wage garnishment. My boyfriend had his wages garnished by Discover two years ago. The last payment was taken out in February 2007. He just received another letter from the local attorneys representing Discover, saying that upon review of their records, they discovered that they hadn't taken enough out and due to the 19.99% interest rate, the amount has increased substantially. They are now taking another $400 out of each paycheck for two months. I'm not a legal expert, but this doesn't seem right since it was their mistake. Can anyone help us out here? Thanks!

Mistake has nothing to do with this. The ONLY question is... has he paid the entire judgment debt in full?? If he has, then he has the right to expect them to stop. If he has not paid the judgment in full, then the garnishment remains.
