What is the name of your state? Wisconsin

Finally, a question of my own for you guys. :)

I'm reviewing a contract for services for a consulting firm I wish to engage. Their headquarters is in Chicago. Per the terms of the contract, "The laws of the State of Illinois shall govern this Agreement. Both parties consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in the State of Illinois."

I can understand why the consulting firm would find it advantageous (or at least less expensive) to litigate in their home State should a dispute arise but other than that, am I missing something here? I've never seen a contract which called for waiving one's rights to pursue a legal claim in one's own State.

JETX, Homie, Pfaff, IAAL, any light you can shed will be appreciated. :)
