Hello,

My company is not going very well, so I think I could be fired pretty soon. I have a J-1 visa.

So I would like to know if it is a good reason for breaking a lease : I mean, you get fired from your office and you had a J-1 visa, meaning you become illegal on the territory.

If am fired, I would just like to go back to france and break the lease.

If I follow the regular way, it means I have to stay 2 more months in my appartment after I give the notice and on top of that pay one month rent. Tough I would be illegal here after 2 months.

Can anybody help me,

Thanks for your help,

LEPIT Sandy

That is part of the cost of renting an apartment.

You have had the benefit of the lease (lower rental costs), and now you have to keep your part of the bargain.

Talk to your landlord, and see what you can work out.
