What is the name of your state?Virginia

I recently received a "warrant of debt" and am suppose to appear in court on Nov 1 for this. It is for a bank debt of $233. I am unemployed and barely hanging on the way it is, I cannot afford the gas to drive 30 miles to court. What happens if I do not show up for this?

They win a default judgment and can then go after future wages, bank accounts, etc. You can still call and see if you can negotiate with the lawyer suing you. At the very least you can call the court and ask for a postponement, perhaps it'll give you time enough to get gas money to make it to court.
