I live in New York state, I am having a hard time finding a lawyer to help me. I was dropping kids off at school and the school driveway was a sheet of ice I could not stop at the end of the driveway and slid into oncoming traffic where I was hit by a semi. I recieved injuries to my back but not major injuries just a sprain. I only have liability issurance so it does not cover the damage to my van. The police said I had to many witnesses so I did not get a ticket. How do I try to get the school to pay for the damage?

Under what legal theory is the school liable to you for your damages?

You're at fault for the accident and liable for all damages. The school is not to blame for Mother Nature causing water to freeze.
