What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado

I had a water leak from my tub drain that damaged some drywall in the condo below. Who gets to choose the contractor? What's the law? Am I responsible? Does HOA help in any way?

The owner of the damaged property gets to decide who enters their house to perform work. The HOA is not responsible for anything inside of either of your units.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. Where can I research this further--state laws, hoa, etc?
Thanks again for your help.

Read your CC&R's regarding what the HOA is responsible for.

There is no law that says you can pick the contractor that goes inside of someone else's house.

RIGHT! Laws generally tell you what you CANNOT do, not what you CAN do. Not sure why OP would be able to tell another person what OP (or his insurance company) will or will not pay for.
