Water pipe leak under slab in house

I discovered a small hot water leak under my kitchen floor. It did not damage the floor because the floor is on a concrete slab. However I cannotignore it because the water runs continuously and has increased my water and electric bill. My insurance refuses to pay for any of the repair work which includes breaking down though the slab and destroying my floor. Do I have any recourse?

The water leak is considered a maintenance problem and your policy very likely excludes such things. Fixing leaking water pipes is part of home ownership.

You need to deal with this FAST

Your foundation is getting ruined, which is trivial compared to the wasted energy.

You need to get a plumber in there and set up a bypass around the leaking section of pipe

You don't need to to rip up the slab for this first step.

Then you need to consult with a foundation expert to see if your foundation is sound.

Then you need to decide if a full repair is needed and or if the bypass will work out without costly slab work.

Are we speaking of Homeowners Warranty Insurance and/or is this new construction that came with some kind of warranty that the builder may be responsible for?
