The twp. is putting in waterline service. Their agreement was to bring a lateral line up to 75 ft. on your property and/or to within 10 ft. of residence. They failed to do this for us. When questioned as to why, we were told we did not sign an easement. The only easement we received, we did sign and return to the attorney. When questioned further, we were told the missing easement was probably sent to the previous owner of the property. We purchased our property on Dec. 1, 2005. The missing easement was sent out some time in Jan. of 2006. The twp. supervisor said the books weren't up to date. They had no trouble sending us our tax bill in Jan. however. The twp. is refusing to do anything about this. This waterline was just installed in June of 2007. We even went in to see if we had to pay for a hookup permit and they handed us a form to be completed by the person doing the actual hookup from the lateral to the residence. Who is responsible for the cost and installation of this lateral line?
