What is the name of your state? California
I purchased a lifetime hosting package a few months ago. I have been working to get things up on my six domains and this is the only work I can do because I'm disabled. The person from whom I purchased the space has disappeared from the face of the earth and the service he was working with has now written to tell me I must sign up with them by Monday at midnight or I will lose everything. At the moment I am homeless and living with my daughter. I don't have the money to move everything and now I will lose all my work including a blog that is starting to get some readers. How do I find out who the other victims are and where can I find an attorney to help me sue for my money back? Do I have any other options? Thanks

Do you own the domain names? If so find some cheap hosting such as hostgator and login to the current ftp's if you can then tar and download a copy of everything to you PC. Try to salvage something from the websites.

Don't you think it's strange that your host just collected $ and now someone else supposedly owns the hosting service and wants more $.

Run a 'who is' check to make sure.

Search for the host name on google or similar like this 'host so and so rip off' or something like that.

Yes, another person mentioned the same thing. I do own the domain names but can't do anything with any of it at the moment, I will try to download everything to my computer and do a search on VIP to see what the deal is. Thanks
