What is the name of your state? ID

My order specifies that I have the kids 1st and 3rd weekend and that the weekend is defined as Friday through Sunday, my lawyer told me that means that my first weekend of the month starts with the first Friday of the month, which would make today the beginning of the 3rd weekend.

My ex is now saying that my first weekend was March 31 - April 2 and that I don't get the kids today...

Does anyone know how the court would interpret the order?

No one knows what a court will do. But I would surely go with the advice of my own attorney in my own state!

Now, tell your attorney to file for contempt on your X.

Well, did you have the kids Mar. 31- Apr. 2?
If so, I see it as you should have had them last weekend.

I did not have the kids March 31 - April 2.

this month I have them 1st and 3rd and for spring break, which was April 13 - 17.

I sent him the schedule on April 3rd - and he's just now getting around to telling me "not your weekend"

And yes, if he denies, my lawyer will be filing contempt.

Yep, contempt it is.
So, it should be:
1st weekend: Apr.7-9
Spring Break: Apr. 13-17
3rd weekend: Apr. 21-23

Is spring break only a long weekend in OP's state?

It depends on the school - but the one that my kids attend, yes, it is only a long weekend.

so - I drove 280 miles, waited an hour for my kids, the ex was a no-show, so I drove 280 miles back home with an empty mini-van and cried a lot. Today - my lawyer is preparing contempt of court charges.

I miss my kids and now I won't get to see them until the 1st weekend in May.
