Texas. If my orders say he gets them until Monday at 6pm because of holiday but a teacher in-service day falls on Tue...does his time end Monday at 6pm or gets pushed to tue? My papers only talks about if any of these fall on Monday.

He would get until the Monday at 6pm. The Tuesday would be yours.

I hardly ever think Texas is great, but their SOP is VERY specific, which really should cut down on infighting.

No, because the day off school is not a Monday therefore its not a long weekend. Its in the middle of the week so its just a random day off school.

I tried to explain that to him and he screamed lawyer. I even took a picture of the part of decree showing it says Monday not any other day. Just another unnecessary argument. Sad to say I've had to have police intervention before to correct him just so the kids can try to visit and come back. Any suggestions on where (besides lawyer again) that I can speak with to try and get it cleared up for him for future?

What is the issue with him having an extra day?
It wouldn't be any issue if he would just follow the decree instead of saying what he thinks it says and causes me to need law enforcement to correct him and get my kids back. If he would just sit with his lawyer and go step by step so he knows when/time/dates(even ones complicated by holidays ect) there would be no issue

Of course, you could forestall the issue by saying "Hey Dad - there's an in-service day on Tuesday, so the kids are off then, too. Why don't you keep them until 6 pm on Tuesday?" I am assuming he gets eow...

It would be too long to explain why I have done that before and it turned sour. I will just say for the emotional well being for my 2 kids at least until they are older that it stay as strict as the judge has it. Ours is standard with a few modifications

In some cases it really is better to stick strictly to the court orders. Only you know whether yours is one of the cases.

I obviously don't know "the rest of the story", but.... involving law enforcement in parenting time/custody disputes rarely helps a child's emotional well-being...

Believe me...the worst is when you do have to get the officer involved. I was so happy he pulled dad aside while the kids were inside and explained it without the kids seeing it all...and then he asked dad to open the door and officer just stayed by his car while they got into my car. I guess I am more frustrated that something so simple had to get that far.
I just explained to my kids sometimes even parents have a hard time with divorce and that their dad loves them too...just a mix-up happened and we just needed a little outside help. lawyer said I would have to take him to court if he didn't give the kids back but could use police if necessary just to have documents showing he was refusing.
