i reside in FRESNO CA i was convicted of welfare fraud in 2001 the case was a felony reduced to a misdemeanor and ultimately dismissed in 2001. it still shows up on my record can i get it expunged? i plead no contest but the courts say it still means guilty and i could try for a petition but i do not kno of the process. would it be easier to get a defense attorney? Does anyone know if welfare fraud cases can be expunged?

THANK YOU

No Contest = Guilty

You can try and petition for expungment, but I wouldn't suggest you do it yourself. You need to hire a criminal attorney.
