My friend is going through a divorce where the woman was on welfare and he didn't know it. He is going to have to go to jail of pay the money back. He is homeless and jobless. I basically take care of him. We plan to be married when ever he can get the divorce. He has been through many attys. All the lawyers are telling him he doesn't have a chance. I don't have any more money to help him pay a lawyer or another two years for this to go on. She used her maiden name and parents address and he can't prove she lied on documents. The court won't believe him and won't allow people that know the truth to testify in his behalf. The court is saying the people are bias. My children's father was murdered and we receive benifits from his death. When the divorce is finally over and we are able to get married can the gov. take my children's money to pay the gov. or the child support he has to pay in the original agreement. The judge hasn't signed the papers because the gov wants the money or to send him to jail. She has already gotten everything, the kids, the money in the accounts, signed his name to checks he received from his last job and used it. He has nothing. We live in Texas.
