i need to be pointed in a direction! my son is in 1st grade.he has been terribly ill over the last two quarters of school.the frustrating part of this is that all of the illnesses{mostly strep throat}have come from his classroom.i had to take my son to a tonsil specialist today and it was decided that the tonsils must be removed asap.when i called the school to notify them of what's going on the principal informed me that i was under review for truancy.i am going to sit down and discuss my son's attendance with him on monday {4/25/05}he's requested that i bring my son's medical records, which is not a problem all illnesses were documented.what are my rights?do i need to be concerned?what are the principal's rights and limits?
